Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a valuable resource in our school. Watch for classroom newsletters and the principal’s weekly letter for opportunities to match your time, talent and skills. Your hours should be recorded in the office volunteer box. Each family is expected to give 20 hours of volunteer time yearly or be billed $10 an hour at the end of the year as part of their tuition package.
See individual classroom listings.

Home and School Committee
All school parents/guardians are considered members of the Home and School Organization. The Home and School Committee consists of representative families from each grade level and a staff representative. The council meets regularly to plan social, enrichment and fund-raising events for our school community.

Room Parent Committee
The room parent plays an important role in assisting your child’s teacher with classroom projects, communicating with classroom parents and helping coordinate events throughout the school year. Room Parent Handbook 2011-2012

Catholic School Advisory Committee
The Catholic School Advisory Committee is a consultative body that reports to and advises the School Administrator and Parish Leadership Council on issues of policy, budget, practice and program. The committee is comprised of members from the school families and the parish. Each meeting has time allotted for “open forum” where school families or parishioners may express their requests, views or concerns. The dates and times of meetings are published in the school’s monthly calendar.

Birthday Boxes
A wonderful way to help our children experience the blessings of helping someone less fortunate, the Birthday Box on-going community service project provides a “birthday in a box” for needy children. These boxes are then distributed through several food shelves and shelters. We collect donations of cake mixes, frosting, birthday candles, wrapped candy, books and unisex small toys, games and puzzles suitable for ages 4-10. It is important that small gifts are appropriate for either a girl or boy and that they are able to fit inside a 12x12x5 cake box.
