| Dear St. Mary of the Lake Parents and Friends, We've had a great year thus far in music K-8. All the students did a wonderful job with the Christmas concert. I still receive favorable comments from parents, relatives, other teachers, students, and audience members who came only to hear a good performance. The middle schoolers are to be commended on their fine work on "Seussical." They gave a great performance under Christy VanOverbeke and Kim Eversman. In K-5, we have worked units on musical notation, basic music reading, and Carl Orff studies. In these our students have also done very well. Now we must turn our attention to the Spring concert to be given on May 22, 2008. We have begun preparation for this K-5 performance and we ask you to help your children at home with songs' words memorization. Your aid will be greatly appreciated.
