St. Mary of the Lake Middle School Mathematics
Program

At Saint Mary of the Lake School the elementary Everyday Mathematics
program provides a solid foundation for a rigorous middle school
mathematics curriculum. At the end of 5th grade a placement test
is given to determine middle school mathematics placement. Any
new incoming middle school student will also be tested for placement.
Once placement is determined, middle school students will follow
one of two paths:

6th Grade Mathematics
6th Grade Mathematics is a course that serves as a bridge between
elementary and middle school mathematics. A number of different
sources are used in activities meant to prepare students for Pre-Algebra.
