St. Mary of the Lake Athletic Department participates in the
Catholic Athletic Association (CAA). St. Mary's offers Middle School
students the opportunity to play in three different sport seasons.
Fall sports include soccer and volleyball. Winter season offers
basketball, hockey and swim team. Spring season offers baseball
and fast pitch softball.
St. Mary's also participates in the CAA golf tournament and track
and field meet in the spring.
Our Athletic Department offers a ski club to all Middle School students.
We ski Wild Mountain five Fridays during the months of January, February
and March. In December we offer a one-day ski trip to Wild Mountain
for our 5th and 6th graders.
St. Mary's offers an annual Basketball Camp the last week of June.
Registration begins in April and is due by the end of May. It is a
four day camp that works with individual and group instruction, fundamental
skills of offense and defense, and coordination drills. A camp T-shirt,
daily snack and beverage is included with the camp fee.
St. Mary's offers a volleyball camp the last week of August. Registration
begins in May and is due by the end of July. It is a four day camp
that works on individual and group skills, fundamental rotation and
coordination drills. A camp T-shirt is provided with the fee of the
camp.
Our Athletic Department holds an annual Basketball Tournament the
last weekend of January for 7th/8th grade teams. Please come cheer
on the Saints or call to volunteer with tickets, scoreboard, scorebook
and more.
Our sport schedules will be posted as soon as we receive them. Please
come cheer on the SAINTS!
To participate in any of our sports, a student must have a sports
physical on file at school. Sport physicals are valid for three years.
Students must also have a signed policy book on file. Policy Books
need to be signed yearly.
An athletic fee is charged for participation in St. Mary of the Lake
extracurricular sports and is payable prior to each athletic season.
The money collected supports league fees, athletic director’s
stipend, equipment and materials consumed by the teams. Families with
need can petition the athletic director and/or school principal to
waive or reduce the athletic fee. With the rising cost of league and
equipment fees, St. Mary of the Lake can no longer have a family maximum
payment amount, starting the 2006-2007 school year.
