St. Mary of the Lake has served the White Bear Lake area community
for 125 years. We are a parish community of approximately 2,700
households
(8,000 individuals). Presently, our membership consists of 35% under
the age of 18, 55% ages 18-65, and 10% over 65 years of age. We
have
35 full-time staff (including teachers) and approximately 35 part-time
staff. Our parish and school budget is about $3 million.
Based on past experience, here are a few statistics about our
programs. In a one-year period, we baptize about 100 infants,
100 young people
receive their first Eucharist, about a dozen are confirmed, and
up to a dozen adults participate in our RCIA program. We celebrate
approximately
40 weddings and over 60 funerals each year. Our school enrollment
is about 400 students (preschool through 8th grade) and we have
about 500 participants in our youth faith formation programs.
Hundreds of adults participate in our adult faith formation programs,
including
scripture study, lenten retreats, and other adult enrichment programs.
We are proud of our welcoming environment here. We encourage lay
person involvement in all aspects of our ministries from leadership
(parish leadership council and six standing committees) to frontline
service to our St. Mary's community and the greater community.
