Faith Formation Philosophy

It is our mission:
  • To teach the beliefs and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • To grow in appreciation and participation in the Church's sacramental life.
  • To share the good News of Jesus Christ as related in Scripture.
  • To participate in the mission of the Church as expressed in Worship, Service, and Education.
  • To relate the teachings and mission of the church to daily life.
  • To offer a setting in which we can recognize and reflect upon God's presence and action in our lives.
  • To offer a setting in which we can grow in openness to God's gift of faith.
  • To offer a setting in which we can respond to God's invitation.
  • To encourage children to share their experience of faith.
We implement this philosophy by providing:
  • A process of FORMATION through which children are incorporated into the shared traditions and values of the Church;
  • A process of EDUCATION through which children develop the ability to think critically about the sources and foundations of our Catholic beliefs, as a means to response in faith;
  • A process of INSTRUCTION through which children acquire knowledge and skills essential to a life of faith.

Faith Formation Committee

The Faith Formation Committee meets once a month as visionary leaders and policy makers. Our mission is to provide meaningful and enjoyable programs that support the faith formation of children and youth. This mission, inspired by the parish mission, is dependent on our commitment to volunteer development. We support parents as primary catechists of their children, while creating a sense of belonging, drawing awareness to supporting the life long journey in faith, and fostering an environment of Christian values.
